Thanks for sharing this feedback.

Many clients are using the Complete status in a way that would help with what you're talking about. Complete can send a notification to customers that the job is done, but still allow users to add transactions or other details to the work order before it's closed.

And it sounds like you're using the "notify requester of a change in status" notification. If you just use the completion notification, the customer won't be notified when you change it from complete to closed.
