Our district came from Spiceworks to ITDirect because our maintenance department started using MaintenanceDirect. Sadly, Spiceworks had a much more customizable solution and so we're feeling the pain of leaving it. I feel that SchoolDude has very similar underlying functionality, but lacks the ease-of-use and customization that Spiceworks offers.
I think current and potential SchoolDude users would benefit greatly from a redesign. If the developers could re-think what the users want to see when they log in and how they want to be able to access and change settings in the system. For example, I would like to be able to see several of my tickets at once.
The way the 'Home' is laid out now, I can only see 5 incidents at once without scrolling...
Another example, I would like to be able to select what information about each incident is shown under my 'assigned incidents'; the area number is just as important as the requester's name. Also, I would like to be able to change a user's settings by simply searching for a user, clicking on the user, and getting ONE page that shows ALL of the options for that user. The step-by-step approach is more confusing and takes twice as long to make a change.
I hope I'm not coming off as angry or simply complaining. I really do thing SchoolDude has all of the functionality of a great product... It just needs some updating and smoothing-out on the user interface.
