These buttons should be an option to turn on for internal users and not just Community Users. It would prevent bookings that are in fact conflicts prior to submitting. Most people don't bother to look and causes more work from the approvers.

When a work order is created from a FSDirect task it doesn't tell you the MaintenanceDirect work order ID # unless their are costs associated to the work order. Could it be setup to see the work order ID regardless if there is a cost?
