I've been a member of the SchoolDude marketing team for over 3 years, and I work with Independent schools and Higher Education institutions. I’ve lived in North Carolina my entire life, but don’t have much of an accent – at least I don’t think I do? I attended NC State University and earned my degree in Communication. I'm active in several clubs within in the community. On the weekend, you’ll find me downtown testing out new restaurants, volunteering or dancing at a local concert.
With school back in session, your campus is once again alive with the hustle and bustle of students scurrying to class, meeting for projects, and lounging in the common areas. Seeing the students about campus is a reminder that the safety of your faculty, staff and students is a top priority.
That is why September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month (NCSAM). It is intended to raise awareness of particular issues affecting campuses throughout the nation. To stay in line with this theme, we are providing you with tips and resources for preparing your staff.
Safety Preparedness Tips:
If your safety plan is paper-based it can be time consuming and expensive to update. Using a mobile safety platform, like SchoolDude’s CrisisManager, allows you to update response procedures in real-time including building diagrams, campus maps and emergency phone numbers. Update content as often as needed without wasting money on printing and paper costs. Your school’s safety plans are available with or without a Wi-Fi connection, are fully customizable and password-protected.
