I've worked on the marketing team at SchoolDude since 2013. I currently am the Public K-12 Marketing Manager and serve the Public K-12 market with helpful resources and trends that can help them in their day-to-day work. I work closely with the sales organization and several other departments to ensure clients and the public have a clear understanding of what SchoolDude does and the benefits our solutions provide to educational institutions. It’s exciting to work in marketing everyday and see clients succeed and schools benefit from using SchoolDude. I grew up in Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Business- Wahoowa!

My recent trip to Anderson University is a perfect example of how much you can get done with an onsite visit. After being introduced to the physical plant administrators on the first morning, we “holed” up in a conference room for the next 2 days. We focused on making sure all the data was input correctly to make for a smooth and easy transition for the supervisors that would be processing the work orders.
To ensure that the transition was smooth Gail Tollison and I set up over 300 automatic routes in the system to make sure that all work orders would automatically be assigned to the person in charge of handling them. After, editing our list and making sure we had all of our “bases covered” we moved the focus to PMDirect. Jonathan Wells and I began inputting schedules to account for all of the preventive maintenance (PM) that needed to be done at each campus. We started with Fire Panels and moved all the way down the list to fountain pumps and generator checks. 70 schedules later, we had a PM program that was ready to go for their June 3rd “go live” date.
The last bit of business that we focused on was training the supervisors. We held an hour-long training session with Anderson’s supervisors to make sure that they were comfortable logging in and navigating the system. Anderson had recently purchased iPads for the whole crew and we discussed how much time they will be able to save by checking for work on those as opposed to driving to the office to pick-up paper copies.
I had the pleasure of working with Gail, Jonathan, and Jhan Nixon over the 2 day period, and by the time it was 5pm on the second day we had setup a solution that was not only simple for them to use, but a system that would allow them to track the work they had been wanting for a long time! A big “Thank You” to Anderson University; not only for allowing me to come and see how you operate day-to-day, but for making me feel so welcome! I hope I can visit again soon.
