I am really struggling with itdirect. it is so inflexible that I feel we are having to change our way of doing things just to fit it.
The front page is what schooldude has decided is important (not me) - a long scrolling (LONG scrolling) but narrow center window, unimportant stuff on the sides - including a link to the weather?! and no way to change or de-select any of it.
the incident template is laid out in a confusing manner with obvious things like a subject or room number or asset tag missing, with things being mandatory ( or not ) that do not match what we want, no way to set defaults on most fields. Even basic things like text entry field large enough to see without scrolling or defaulting the status to "new request" when creating a new request are not there.
I find it frustrating that I don't get to decide most of what I want my incident system to work like. I hope in the future schooldude adds a lot more flexibility than it currently has.
